Terms of service

Last updated: March 2, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Raceday ("the Service"), available at raceday.dev, you agree to be bound by these terms of service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Raceday is a sports coaching platform that enables coaches to manage athletes, record and analyse performance test data (including running and cycling metrics), calculate training zones, and plan races with GPX course data. The Service includes both free (Starter) and paid (Pro) subscription tiers.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
  • You may sign in using email and password or through Google OAuth. If you link a Google account, you authorise us to receive your name and email address from Google for authentication purposes.
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

4. Coach responsibilities

As a coach using Raceday, you act as the data controller for any athlete personal data you enter into the platform. You are responsible for:

  • Obtaining consent — securing explicit, informed consent from each athlete before entering their personal data, especially health-related data such as heart rate, VO2max, lactate thresholds, weight, and other physiological metrics.
  • GDPR compliance — complying with the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable data protection laws when handling athlete data.
  • Data accuracy — ensuring athlete data is accurate and up to date.
  • Responding to data requests — handling data subject access requests, deletion requests, and other rights exercised by your athletes.

For more information about how we process data, see our privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Upload malicious files, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
  • Enter athlete data without proper consent or use athlete data for purposes beyond coaching
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission

6. Subscriptions and payments

  • Raceday offers a Starter (free) tier and a Pro (paid) tier with additional features. Details of what each tier includes are available on the pricing page.
  • New Pro subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period.
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal, accessible from your account settings.
  • Upon cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Starter tier.

7. Intellectual property

  • Your data — you retain all rights to the data you enter into the Service, including athlete data, test results, and GPX files.
  • Our service — the Service, including its design, features, code, algorithms (such as training zone and metabolic calculations), and documentation, is owned by Raceday and protected by intellectual property laws.
  • We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose during your active subscription.

8. Limitation of liability

Raceday is not a medical device. The performance metrics, training zones, VO2max estimates, lactate thresholds, and other calculations provided by the Service are intended for informational and coaching purposes only. They are not medical advice and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical assessment.

  • We are not liable for any training decisions, injuries, or health outcomes that result from using the Service or relying on its calculations.
  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Account termination

  • You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
  • Upon account deletion, we apply a 30-day grace period during which your data is retained but your account is deactivated. You can reactivate your account by signing in during this period.
  • After the 30-day grace period, all your personal data and associated athlete data are permanently deleted.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with reasonable notice where possible.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the platform or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "last updated" date at the top indicates the most recent revision.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Belgium. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Belgium.

12. Contact
